Unexpected Path

I realize that me at the present is what I had never think I am. While I was studying grade eleven in Vietnam, I didn’t thought of come to the U.S. After my mom said I would come to Hawaii, I confused about it. For me, a person, who had never think about what come next and always let my parents do everything, is preparing to do everything by myself now. I was really scared because I didn’t know how to cook, and I even couldn’t speak English. However, when I live in Hawaii, I gradually catch up the life beat here. I can cook, go to the market, and take care of myself now. Specially, I started living more economically than when I lived in Vietnam. I have been looking for a job ,which was the first job in my life. Unfortunately, my parents told me that I should quit my job to be safer during COVID-19. One of the things I am struggling now is what major I should study. Actually, I have never researched the majors which any student should find when they prepare to go to college and university. If I never come to Hawaii, maybe I have never been mature and think carefully like now. what caused me is living in Hawaii when I didn’t know anything, and the amazing effect for that is I start caring more about my future.

  1. Nice work Liem with all of the clauses that you were able to include in your blog post! It’s amazing how many clauses we use in writing when we can actually identify them. I really like your story as well. Sometimes leaving home and being put into a situation that we never imagined can have a lot of positive effects on our life.
