Life is Adventure

The new way I had to meet was hawaii, a place known as heaven of the human world, when I came here, I did not tell anyone except my family. And especially, it took nearly three months for my friends to know that I had immigrated to the United States. I once said I would never feel homesick but then it came. I missed my family, every night I went to my uncle’s house to eat and sometimes had some beer (I felt pretty normal and I was sixteen years old at that time). Sometimes exercise walks every night. When I was sad, I often rode a motorbike around town and sat somewhere to watch the sky at night or sat in my uncle’s cafe to listen to music and ready to help him when the cafe was crowded . In Hawaii, I have just stayed indoors and rarely gone out unless my family wants to go somewhere, I don’t have too many friends here and even when I’m in Vietnam, I am hardly too concerned about it. It’s because I’m always alone. The difficult thing about me when I was in Hawaii was that going to eat has had to move to quite a distance and sometimes traffic and I was quite tired of that. In Vietnam, I just rode a motorbike to a small restaurant and buy food to take home, from my house to there it only took a few minutes to ride a motorbike so it’s great because I won’t be afraid of hunger. In Hawaii, they still have canned food and fast food but maybe I can’t eat them much. There is a special thing about myself that I now know is that I am a person living happily outside but inside is the sorrow surrounding. But for me life is an adventure so fatigue sometimes takes me down. but I have no free time to care about that, so being strong and getting rid of sadness and tiredness is the best thing I can do to forget homesickness.

  1. Hi Liem- I did the same thing when I lived in Indonesia. I would hardly ever go out unless I had to- I would stay at home a lot because I was so nervous and scared to go out. I didn’t speak the language very well, and I didn’t know where to go and get food. It helped when I made friends with the local people, and they would help me. I hope that you can make some new and adventurous friends here in Hawaii and be able to get out and enjoy all of the fun things to do here!

  2. It’s me again, the one behind you-Van. I always felt like nobody could understand my inner when I was a kid, and I was really upset. I think when you get older, everything will be fine because you get used to it. Liem, at least, find a friend that you can play like a kid when you are with them. If you don’t want to be hungry, learn how to cook 😀 I think you are good at it. Smile more, Be happier, you look really sleepy without a smile on your face =))
